Dr. Raines, a native of South Carolina, completed her undergraduate studies at Winthrop University in 1999. She then continued to the University of Georgia to receive her DVM. Dr. Raines then spent the first part of her career working in a large, fast paced practice in Columbia, SC. In 2008 Dr. Raines moved to Landrum and early the following year became the owner of Landrum Veterinary Hospital. Her interests include internal medicine, acupuncture, and reproduction. She is certified in acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Her favorite part of practice ownership is watching team members grow to their full potential and find purpose in the veterinary field.
When Dr. Raines is not at the hospital, she can be found spending time with her husband and their two daughters along with their motley group of Great Danes, rescue pups, cats, and chickens. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and gardening. Her favorite hobby is genealogical research and she is an active member of the DAR.
