Dr. Parker graduated from Clemson University in 1989 with a B. S. in Zoology. From there, she attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining her DVM in 1993.  Dr. Parker then moved to the Metro Atlanta Area where she practiced for 26 years while raising a family. Her two biggest areas of interests in veterinary medicine have always been exotic animal medicine and general surgery.

In her varied career, Dr. Parker has worked in full service practices, been a member of a state government avian monitoring board, served as veterinarian for Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Raptor Program, owned a clinic, and served as Medical Director for a non-profit high quality, high volume spay / neuter (HQHVSN) practice. She has written many educational articles and personal interest stories over the years for publication.

Dr. Parker and her family moved back to the area where she grew up to be closer to family and slow down from the fast paced life of Atlanta. She enjoys having her human children visit and having more room for the animal children she has adopted. As a favored quote says, “Life takes you to unexpected places, Love brings you home.”
